UCAS guidance
Helping our students chose the right university training.
Each year the Latymer School supports over 220 UCAS applications, including over 100 early applications for Oxbridge and subjects including Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry. While the school offers valuable guidance, staff ultimately encourage students to complete their own research and make their own decisions, so that students can be confident that their chosen university is right for them.
In the Summer Term of Year 12, students are urged to start thinking about their UCAS application. In order to help individuals reach their desired destination, the school organises numerous events to ensure that students are well-informed about the application process. These include a UCAS Information Evening for parents, assemblies, tutorials, and 1-to-1 sessions with referees.
Specific information sessions on additional admissions tests, such as the LNAT (Law National Aptitude Test) and TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment), are offered to students wishing to apply for these subjects. Each student additionally has the opportunity to undergo one mock interview, should they need it, to practice performing under stress. Thanks to the school’s strong links with Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities, students can also expect to benefit from university-led workshops and advisory sessions.
